A 25-year-old man has been arrested by North West Metro Regional Crime Squad members following the seizure of $10 million worth of GHB last month, Victoria Police say.
The Abbotsford man was arrested by detectives during a warrant at a property on Victoria Street about 630am.
He was charged with traffic a commercial quantity of drug and will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
The arrest follows the execution of 30 search warrants across Melbourne’s north-west and Shepparton during the past four months.
To date, Operation Turret has resulted in the seizure of 2100 litres of the chemical 1,4 Butenediol (which is used to make GHB), 12 firearms; and the arrest of 30 people.
