Antoine Saint-Exupery adaptation "The Little Prince" trailer unveiled

- Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for "The Little Prince". The streaming service announced on Thursday, May 26 that the animated movie would be released in selected U.S. theaters and streaming on Netflix on August 5, AceShowbiz said.

The animated adaptation of Antoine Saint-Exupery's classic centers on a modern little girl who meets an elderly neighbor telling stories about a boy he once met from a tiny planetoid and the latter to depict the beautiful world of the Prince. Director Mark Osborne blends CG and elegant stop-motion styles, which recalls Antoine's original art, in the film.

"The Little Prince", which has hit a few speed bumps on its way to the big screen after Paramount quietly pulled the feature shortly before its mid-March release date, features voice work by Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, James Franco and Ricky Gervais.

Mark told EW, "It's been a crazy adventure, the entire production. How I look at it, the release pattern is really uncommon too. I really wanted to find a way to create a cinematic emotional experience that was equivalent to the emotional experience that someone can have reading the book."

"I really saw the movie as an opportunity to pay tribute to the power of the book. Not just adapt the book word for word, but a chance to adapt what the book means to people, and how it affects their lives," he added.
