Appeal after armed robbery - Belmore 26 April

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Sydney's south west yesterday.

About 10.45pm (Sunday 25 April 2021), officers from Campsie Police Area Command were called to a service station on Punchbowl Road, Belmore, after reports of an armed robbery.

Police have been told an unknown man, armed with a knife, entered the store and demanded cash from the employee – a 26-year-old man.

He stole cash and cigarettes, before fleeing the scene on foot down Benaroon Road. The employee was uninjured.

A search of the surrounding area was conducted, with assistance from the Dog Unit and POLAIR, however the man was not located. A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist police.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the robbery, including any possible links to a similar incident at the same location on Thursday 8 April 2021 and Monday 12 April 2021.
