Appeal after armed robbery of delivery van - Carlingford

Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a delivery driver in Carlingford today.

About 8am (Saturday 27 November 2021), a driver parked a white Toyota Hiace van on Adderton Street, Carlingford, before exiting to make a delivery at a home on the street.

Police were told when he returned, two males were standing outside the van – one armed with a knife – and demanded he hand over his keys.

One male grabbed the keys from the driver and entered the driver's seat, while the second male entered the front passenger seat, before the van was driven from the location, with 70 parcels, the driver's wallet, shoes and backpack inside.

The driver – a 22-year-old man – was not injured.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and might have dashcam vision, or who has seen the van, NSW Registration BK03PD.
