Appeal after business fire - Mascot

Police are appealing for information as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding a fire in Sydney's south last month.

Around 3am on Friday 11 August 2023, emergency services were called to a building on Botany Road, Mascot, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and found a business well alight.

The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported.

Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.

As inquiries continue, police have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.

One man is described as wearing a black tracksuit, black sneakers, and carrying two orange jerry cans.

The other man is described as wearing a black and grey tracksuit, a black hooded jumper and black sneakers.

They were believed to be travelling in a white MG station wagon.
