Appeal after fatal pedestrian crash at Dareton

Police are appealing for information following a fatal pedestrian crash in the state's far west at the weekend.

About 7.00am on Saturday (10 July 2021), emergency services were called to Silver City Highway near Fletchers Lake Road, Dareton, after reports a Nissan Navara had struck a pedestrian.

A 52-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however he died at the scene.

The driver of the utility, a 58-year-old man, was not injured and was taken to Wentworth Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Barrier Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
