Appeal after fire - Rozelle

An investigation is underway following a fire at a former leagues club in Rozelle, which is being treated as suspicious.

Shortly after 4.30pm yesterday (Saturday 7 May 2022), emergency services were called to Darling Street after reports an unoccupied building was well-alight.

The blaze was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW officers a short time later.

Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze has commenced.

The cause of the fire is unknown, and it is being treated as suspicious.

Police are also investigating reports two males were seen running from the area shortly after the incident.
