Appeal after home invasion at Penrith

A crime scene has been established at a Penrith home following a home invasion early this morning.

Just before 4.30am (Saturday 22 August 2020), emergency services were called to a home on The Road, after reports three men – armed with a rifle and pipes – forced entry to the home.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended and were told the armed men entered a bedroom and spoke to a male occupant before stealing a safe.

The trio were seen fleeing in a black Hyundai Getz.

No injuries have been reported and a crime scene has been established at the home which will be forensically examined.

An investigation into the incident is underway and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
