Appeal after men assaulted - Darling Harbour

Police are appealing for public assistance after two men were assaulted in Darling Harbour earlier this year.

About 10.10pm Saturday 25 July 2020, two men – a 27-year-old man and a 33-year-old man – were standing outside a bar on The Promenade, Darling Harbour when they became involved in an altercation with another man.

Police were told the 27-year-old man was approached by a male and struck to the head by a glass bottle, whilst the 33-year-old man attempted to break up the altercation.

The attacker then left the scene.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The younger man was conveyed to St Vincent's Hospital with significant wounds to his face. He underwent surgery and has since been released.

The 33-year-old man was taken to Sydney Eye Hospital for further treatment.

As enquiries continue, police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist the investigation.

In particular, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries. The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his early 20s, with short brown hair and has an accent.

At the time he was last seen wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, light-coloured pants and white shoes.
