Appeal after public place shooting - Greenacre 22 November

Raptor Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a public place shooting in Greenacre earlier this month.

About 9pm on Sunday 13 November 2022, police were called to Valencia Street after reports of shots fired.

Police have been told two people were outside a home when a number of shots were fired from a white Subaru WRX sedan parked nearby.

The vehicle fled the scene immediately after, driving towards Maiden Street.

The Subaru was later located burnt-out on Simpson Hill Road at Mt Druitt.

No one was injured in the incident.

Local police conducted initial inquiries, before the matter was referred to the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad under Strike Force Quiro.

Initial investigations suggest the Subaru had been parked in Valencia Street about 6pm prior to the shooting.

Further inquiries have revealed two people were seen running from the Subaru into a second vehicle about 9.50pm in Mt Druitt. This vehicle was last seen driving towards the Great Western Highway.

As inquiries continue, strike force investigators are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the Greenacre area between 5.30pm and 10pm, in particular Roberts Road, Valencia Street, Maiden Street, Rawson Road, Centenary Drive, the M4 and Roper Road, then in Hewitt Street, the Great Western Highway, Simpson Hill Road, Ropes Creek Road, Albert Street and Mt Druitt Road in Mt Druitt.

Further to this, anyone who may have seen a white Subaru WRX sedan parked in the Fairfield area prior to the shooting is urged to come forward.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
