Appeal after several aggravated break and enters at Gunnedah

Police are appealing for information after a series of aggravated break and enters overnight in Gunnedah.

Between 10.30pm yesterday (23 February 2020) and 6am on Monday (24 February 2020), police received reports that a number of homes in the Gunnedah area had been broken into while the occupants were home asleep.

A home on Stewart Street, Lincoln Street and two homes in Hopedale Avenue and Links Road were broken into and cash stolen, while the occupants were asleep.

About 3.20am this morning, police were told a man broke into a home on Links Road when a resident woke up and the man fled on foot.

No one was injured.

Officers from Oxley Police District attended and established a crime scene, and an investigation is underway.

Police are also investigating reports of a stealing on Robert Street, Tamworth at 12:00pm on the 23 February 2020, police believe the same person is responsible and appeal for assistance from the community to locate this person.

The man is described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 150cm tall with a thin build and black hair. The man was wearing a black jacket with green/cream camouflage knee length shorts and a black cap.
