Appeal after shot fired into house in Mascot

Police are investigating after a shot was fired into a house in Mascot on the weekend, NSW Police say.

About 3pm on Saturday (7April 2018), police from Botany Bay Police Area Command were called to an address on Carinya Avenue, Mascot, after residents located a bullet lodged in the skirting board in the front lounge room of their townhouse.

Investigators contacted crime scene specialists and upon examination of the room the bullet was removed from the skirting board and taken for examination.

Canvassing of the location by investigators revealed that neighbours at the location had heard what they thought was the sound of a gunshot and someone running away about 4.15am the previous morning (Friday 6 April 2018).

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
