Appeal for assistance after woman assaulted and robbed at Orange

Police are appealing for assistance from the public after a woman was assaulted and robbed in her Central West home.

About 8:50pm yesterday (Sunday 27 December 2020), a 44-year-old woman was at her home in Cassey Crescent, Orange, when she answered a knock at the door.

Police have been told a man forced his way into the home, assaulted her and demanding money.

The man was handed cash; however, he again assaulted the woman before leaving. The woman suffered only minor injuries.

Officers from Central West Police District established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in his mid 30s, 160cm tall and with a stocky build. He was wearing a black cap, a black face mask, a long black shirt and pants.

Inquiries are continuing.
