Police are appealing for assistance to locate a man who escaped police custody in Emerald this afternoon, Queensland Police say.
Around 5pm, officers were transporting the 17-year-old from court to the watchhouse when he broke free.
The man ran into a neighbouring back yard on Yamala Street a stole a white 2010 Nissan Navara with license plate number 089-WJU.
He is described as Caucasian, 180 centimetres tall with a slim build, brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who sees the vehicle which was last seen in the Springsure area, is urged to contact police.
