Appeal for info after armed robbery in Coonabarabran

Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery in Coonabarabran yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police have been told about 8.35pm yesterday, a 59-year-old man, and two women – aged 22 and 54 – were at a licensed premise on River Road when they were approached by an unknown man.

It is alleged the man threatened them with a firearm, before an altercation took place.

During the altercation, the man removed a machete from his back pack and swung it at the older woman, causing a small laceration to her arm.

The man fled the scene with cash and property.

It’s believed he may have left in a car described as a late model blue sedan with white coloured LED style headlights.

Officers from Mudgee Local Area Command attended and established the crime scene.

The man and woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.

As part of their inquiries, police would like to speak to a man who may be about to assist them.

He is described as being 180cm tall with a thin build and was last seen wearing black clothing and carrying a black back pack.

Anyone with information about the man or vehicle is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
