Appeal for info after vehicle fails to stop following crash in Bankstown

An investigation is underway after a car allegedly failed to stop following a collision with a motorbike in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 8.30pm today, police and emergency services were called to Stacey Street, Bankstown, after reports of a two vehicle crash.

Initial inquiries suggest a motorbike and car collided, causing the rider to be thrown from his bike.

The rider, a 17-year-old boy, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital with a fractured pelvis.

Police have been told a black car failed to stop after the impact and was last seen driving south along Stacey Street.

Officers attached to Bankstown Local Area Command with assistance from Crash Investigation unit established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
