Appeal for Info on Child Approach in East Albury

Police have spoken to a man after a child was approached in the East Albury area.

Around 1.00pm yesterday (Sunday 1 February 2026), officers attached to Murray River Police District commenced an investigation following reports a child was approached by a man not known to him driving a white Toyota Hi-Ace van on Walsh Street, East Albury.

The man allegedly called on the boy to get in the vehicle, which he refused.

Following an appeal for public assistance a man - aged in his 40's - presented to Albury Police Station about 8pm (Sunday 1 February 2026).

The man was spoken to by detectives where he has been released pending further inquiries.
