Appeal for public assistance following attempted robbery, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance following an attempted robbery in Broken Hill last night, NSW Police say.

Just after 8pm (Saturday 24 November 2018), an unknown man armed with a spanner entered a business on Brookfield Avenue, Broken Hill, threatening the employee and demanding cash.

Another employee confronted the man and he fled the scene on foot.

Officers from Barrier Police District attended and commenced inquiries.

Detectives would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them with inquiries.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 180cm tall and aged in his 20s.

Anyone that may have information or who was in the area at the time is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
