Police investigating a string of break and enters across the Sunshine Coast, Moreton and North Brisbane are appealing for assistance to locate a stolen vehicle seen travelling across North Brisbane in recent days, Queensland Police say.
The black 2015 BMW X6 (pictured) has the Queensland registration 9I9. Anyone who may have seen the vehicle is urged to contact police.
Nine properties across the Sunshine Coast were broken into this month as well as almost 20 properties across Pine Rivers, Cleveland, Chermside and Chapel Hill. Officers believe the offences are linked.
Police would additionally like to take this opportunity to remind the community of the importance of locking vehicles and residences, even when you are at home.
In a number of cases, vehicles taken during the break and enters have had keys left in the ignition.
We urge people to adopt some basic vehicle security habits to reduce the risk of having your car stolen or broken into:
•Always locks your vehicle, including the boot and sunroof and remember to fully close the windows
•Remove or place out of sight all valuables and personal documents when leaving your car unattended
•If able to, park your vehicle in a well-lit and highly visible area
•Don’t hide spare keys on the vehicle as thieves know where to look.
