Appeal for witnesses – Hit and run in Belmont, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a hit and run traffic incident in Belmont on March 28, Queensland Police say.

At about 12pm, a red utility crashed into the rear of a white Nissan hatchback as it slowed to give way to merging traffic on the Old Cleveland Road onramp from the Gateway Motorway exit.

The hatchback was pushed across two lanes on Old Cleveland Road in front of a large truck which narrowly avoided a further collision.

The utility immediately left the scene and was last seen heading towards Chandler.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam vision to contact police.
