Appeal for witnesses to head-on crash, near Orange, NSW

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a head-on crash near Orange last weekend that left a woman with serious injuries, to come forward, NSW Police say.

About 3.35pm on Saturday 25 November 2017, emergency services were called to the Mitchell Highway near the intersection of Favell Road at Lucknow, after a Honda CRV travelling south and a Nissan Pulsar travelling north, crashed head-on.

The driver of the Nissan, a 19-year-old woman, was treated at the scene before being flown to Westmead Hospital where she remains in an induced coma with serious injuries

The driver of the Nissan, a 57-year-old woman, was taken to Orange Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

A crime scene was established and officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced investigations.

Police have been told that a number of witnesses assisted both women following the crash; however, those witnesses have not yet spoken to police.

Investigators have released images of the crash site and are urging any of those witnesses, or anyone with information that has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
