Appeal to locate man missing near Wollongong, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing near Wollongong, NSW Police say.

Paul Anthony Stramare, 24, was last seen leaving a home on Margaret Street, Balgownie, about 1.30pm on Thursday 7 June 2018.

His disappearance was reported to police when he failed to return home.

Police and family have serious concerns for Paul’s welfare as his disappearance is out of character.

About 1.30pm yesterday (Friday 8 June 2018), officers from Wollongong Police District, with assistance from Police Rescue and the Wollongong State Emergency Service (SES), conducted an extensive search of the area.

Due to conditions and low light, the search was postponed and will recommence today (Saturday 9 June 2018).

Paul is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, with a fair complexion and medium dark brown wavy hair.

He was last seen wearing a brown t-shirt with white pin stripes and dark-coloured jeans.

Anyone who sees Paul, or knows his whereabouts, is urged to contact police immediately.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
