Applications open for 2019-2020 Regional Museums Grant Support Program

Northern Territory regional museums, keeping places, and community art galleries committed to the preservation of cultural heritage are invited to apply for project funding through the annual Regional Museums Grant Support Program.

Applications are open for funding of up to $50,000 for projects that support the preservation, collection and display of the unique cultural heritage of the Northern Territory. Funded projects must be completed within one year.

A total funding pool of $285,000 is on offer to support projects that drive visitor engagement, involve the local community and contribute to the development of high quality regional centres and best practice collection care throughout the Territory.

Examples of eligible projects include; exhibition, display and collection development, digitisation of materials for preservation and access, improvement of conservation management practices and development of best practice collection care policies.

The Northern Territory Government supported nine regional projects through the grant program in 2018-2019.
