Northern Territory Commissioner of Police, Mr Reece Kershaw APM, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Michael Murphy APM to the position of Deputy Commissioner Operations, together with Mr Michael White APM as Assistant Commissioner Darwin and Support.
"Deputy Commissioner Murphy has been acting in the role of Deputy Commissioner Operations since May 2018, and brings a wealth of experience to the role," Mr Kershaw said, Northern Territory Police say
Mr Murphy commenced with the Northern Territory Police Force in 1997 and served in a number of areas including Alice Springs, Hermannsburg, Katherine and Darwin. He was promoted previously to Assistant Commissioner Crime in March 2017.
"Assistant Commissioner White has spent extensive periods acting as Assistant Commissioner and was previously promoted to Commander Southern in September 2017," Mr Nicholls said.
Commencing with the Northern Territory Police Force in 1984, Mr White served in many areas around the Territory including Alice Springs, Batchelor, Nhulunbuy, Katherine and Jabiru.
"Deputy Commissioner Murphy and Assistant Commissioner White are both highly experienced and knowledgeable senior officers who have made, and will continue to make, valuable contributions to the leadership of our organisation and the safety of our community," Mr Kershaw said.
