Appointment of new CEO for Hydro Tasmania

Guy Barnett,Minister for Energy

Congratulations to Mr Evangelista (Ange) Albertini who has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Hydro Tasmania.

Mr Albertini will take over from outgoing CEO Stephen Davy, who announced his intention to step down from the role earlier this year.

Mr Albertini has been selected following an extensive selection process and brings extensive experience and knowledge of Hydro's operations to the role.

He has worked for Hydro since 2002, serving as Chief Asset Management & Investment Officer for the past year and previously as Chief Operating Officer.

I'm sure this experience will serve him well in leading Hydro Tasmania and the key role it plays in our vision to see Tasmania become a global leader in renewable energy.

I also thank outgoing CEO Stephen Davy for his tireless service to Hydro over more than 15 years, and as CEO for the last seven.

Under his leadership, Hydro Tasmania's returns to the Tasmanian economy have increased significantly while the long-term energy security of our state has been strengthened.

Mr Albertini will begin in the role from tomorrow.
