The State Government has announced the appointment of Ms Katherine Bartolo as the next Valuer-General, for a term of five years commencing from 1 January 2019.
"I’m very pleased that Ms Katherine Bartolo has accepted the role as our State’s next Valuer-General," said Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government Stephan Knoll.
"The Valuer-General is an important statutory role that is responsible for the administration of the Valuation of Land Act 1971.
"The key statutory function of the Valuer-General is to produce the site and capital values for rating and taxation purposes, as well as providing specialist valuation advice to Government and statutory authorities.
"Ms Bartolo is the current State Director for Residential, Valuation & Advisory at CBRE, is a certified practicing valuer and brings her experience from a successful career in valuations in the private sector."
Ms Bartolo replaces Delfina Lanzilli who was first appointed as Valuer-General in March 2013 and has led the Office of the Valuer-General through a period of significant change and reform.
"I would like to sincerely thank Ms Lanzilli for her contribution to the community, the valuation industry and the state throughout her time in this role," said Minister Knoll.
