Appointment To Federal Court Of Australia 11 December

The Albanese Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Craig Lenehan SC as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia.

Mr Lenehan has been appointed to the New South Wales Registry of the Federal Court of Australia and will commence on 9 February 2026.

The Government congratulates Mr Lenehan and thanks him for his willingness to serve the people of Australia.

Mr Lenehan's appointment followed an open call for expressions of interest and assessment by an advisory panel comprised of eminent individuals.

Mr Lenehan was admitted as a Legal Practitioner to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1994. In 2006, Mr Lenehan signed the New South Wales Bar Roll and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2019. At the Bar, Mr Lenehan practised public law, specialising in constitutional and administrative law matters and appellate work.
