APRA and RBA release statement on climate change financial risk

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) have published a joint statement on the actions they are taking to ensure financial institutions and the Australian financial system are prepared to respond to the financial risks of climate change.

APRA and the RBA are among more than 50 international members of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) that have made public statements on the important role of central banks and financial regulators in mitigating the physical, transition and liability risks of climate change in the finance sector.
