Armed Attempted Car Break-In Charge, Wynnum West

Bayside detectives have charged a man following investigations into the alleged attempted unlawful entry of vehicles in Wynnum last night, 28 July.

Shortly before 9pm it will be alleged the man attempted to stop and enter vehicles near a cross walk on Sibley Road.

Responding general duties police and a Brisbane Dog Squad officer arrested the man within minutes of receiving the report.

It will be alleged the man was located in possession of a large, military style, 22cm knife.

A 22-year-old Daisy Hill man has been charged with one count each of attempted unlawful entry of a vehicle for committing indictable offence whilst armed, going armed as to cause fear, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.

He is expected to appear before Wynnum Magistrates Court today, 29 July.
