Police are investigating a violent disturbance in Robina earlier today, Queensland Police say.
Just after 1pm, officers were called to an address on Fairlight Avenue following reports of a violent dispute between a 31-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman who were known to one another.
The man was armed with a knife, a baseball bat and a replica samurai sword and refused to leave the premises.
During the disturbance significant damage occurred to windows, doors and walls.
Police negotiators attended the premises and at 2:45pm, the man was taken into custody.
Due to the significant damage to the unit, the man received minor injuries and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
Investigations are continuing.
