Armed robbery at Beaudesert, QLD

Police are investigating after a man armed with a machete robbed a service station at Beaudesert last night.

Around 8pm, a man entered the business on Beaudesert Nerang Road and approached the counter.

He then produced a large machete and demanded money and cigarettes from a 37-year-old female employee.

The woman complied before fleeing into another room and sounding the alarm as the man put the goods into a black backpack.

The man then smashed the glass counter with the machete before fleeing the store.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 165cm with a thin build and blue eyes. He was wearing a long sleeved dark blue jacket with a hood, long cream pants, black Nike shoes and black socks on his hands.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen the man or have further information regarding the incident to come forward.
