Armed robbery at Melton supermarket

Brimbank Embona armed robbery taskforce detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a supermarket in Melton last month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed two men armed with crow bars entered a supermarket on High Street about 9.40pm on Friday 31 March.

With their faces covered, the men approached the register where they made demands for cash.

They both then went behind the counter and stole three register trays containing a quantity of cash.

A third man was waiting out the front on High Street in a dark coloured hatchback.

All three men fled the scene in that car.

Investigators have released CCTV images of three people they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The first man was wearing black pants, jacket and gloves and black cap with a white label at the time of the incident.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, medium build with a red beard and was wearing a grey and black jumper, jeans and a cap at the time.

The second man was wearing black tracksuit pants with white stripes down the side, a black jacket with a grey hood, black gloves and runners.

The third man police wish to speak to was seen outside the shop on the night before the robbery at about 9.55pm.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, medium build with a beard and was wearing a green and black cap, grey and black jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
