Armed Robbery, Big Bargain Bottleshop Howrah, TAS

At 11:30 am today an Armed Robbery occurred at the Big Bargain Bottleshop at Howrah.  Two offenders approached the front doors of the premises on a smaller capacity road bike that had light coloured front forks and very little fairings.  Both offenders were wearing dark clothing and full faced helmets, Tasmania Police say.

The pillion got off the motorcycle and entered the store, demanding money from the attendant.  It was at this time the attendant noticed the offender holding a handgun.  The attendant complied and the offender left without further incident.  Once outside the store the two offenders left on the motorcycle travelling in the Rokeby direction.

Police are following a specific line of enquiry and would be particularly interested from members of the public with any observations or footage of any similar motorcycles in the Clarendon Vale, Rokeby, Glebe Hill and Howrah areas around the time of the incident.
