Armed robbery charge at Coorparoo, QLD

Police have charged a man and woman following the alleged armed robbery of a service station at Coorparoo early this morning, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 12.40am a man entered the Old Cleveland Road business, approached the counter and produced a knife, demanding money.

The 30-year-old male console operator complied and handed over a sum of cash.

The man then left the premises and allegedly fled the scene in a waiting vehicle.

Police later sighted this vehicle driving on Logan Road, Mt Gravatt where it was intercepted.

The two occupants, a man and a woman, were taken into custody without incident.

A 48-year-old Wynnum man and a 45-year-old woman from Marsden have both has been charged with armed robbery  in compnay. Both are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.
