Armed robbery charge at Helensvale and Robina, QLD

Police have charged a man following investigations into an incident at Helensvale and Robina on November 6, Queensland Police say.

Around 1.30pm two men attended a shopping centre car park on Milaroo Drive in a black Mitsubishi sedan.

It will be alleged the passenger approached a man who had just parked his BMW, produced a knife and placed the man in a headlock before demanding his keys, which were handed over.

He then allegedly attempted to start the vehicle but was unable to do so before re-entering the sedan and driving off.

Around 2.15pm it will be alleged the men attended an address on Fairlight Avenue and approached a woman who had just parked her BMW in the garage.

It will be further be alleged one of the man produced a knife and demanded her to exit the vehicle before driving off in the vehicle.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery and enter with intent.

He will appear before the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Investigations are continuing.
