Armed robbery charge - Strike Force Crommelin, NSW

A man will face court today after being charged with multiple robbery and traffic offences, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Crommelin was established by Metropolitan Robbery Unit to investigate armed robberies across south west Sydney.

Police will allege during August 2016, armed robberies occurred in Punchbowl and Wiley Park.

Following investigations, officers attached to Metropolitan Robbery Unit arrested an 18-year-old man on Yangoora Road, Belmore, just after 11am yesterday.

He was taken to Campsie Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, two counts of robbery in company, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

The man was refused bail to appear ay Burwood Local Court today.

Investigations into the incidents are continuing.
