Armed robbery charges at Annerley, QLD

Detectives have charged a man following the attempted armed robbery of a take-away business at Annerley yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged at 2.50 pm a man entered the store and threatened a staff member with a knife, demanding money.

Another staff member approached the man with a long stick and the man fled the store.

Police located the man a short time later in a nearby park.

A 27-year-old Norman Park man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery and possession of a knife in a public place. He is expected to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 6.

The two male staff members where not physically injured during the incident.
