Armed robbery charges in Kirwan, QLD

A boy has been charged following investigations into the armed robbery of a restaurant in Kirwan last night, Queensland Police say.

At 7pm, two boys entered the Thuringowa Drive address, allegedly armed with a screwdriver and a pair of scissors and made threats towards staff and customers.

It will further be alleged the pair took bottles spirits from the restaurant shelves and removed money from the cash register.

Both boys left the address, however one was located in a nearby backyard a short time later.

It will be alleged the same boy was also involved in a similar incident in Thuringowa Central at around 4pm yesterday where two bottles of alcohol were stolen from a business on High Range Drive.

A 16-year-old Kirwan boy has been charged with two counts each of armed robbery and enter with intent.

Investigations are continuing.
