Armed robbery charges in Marsden, QLD

Police have charged a man following the alleged armed robbery of a Marsden service station early this morning, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged the man entered the Chambers Flat Road business around 1.23am and threatened a staff member with a tyre iron demanding money.

The attendant complied and removed the cash drawer onto the counter.

It will further be alleged the man then removed a sum of cash and fled the scene on foot.

The man was stopped by officers patrolling nearby and arrested.

Police also located a sum of money and tyre iron alleged to be the one used.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

A 25-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery and wilful damage is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
