Detectives have charged a man for an alleged 2009 armed holdup of a Sunshine Coast bowls club., Queensland Police say

It will be alleged at 9.15am on October 16, 2009, a man has entered the School Street club and threatened a male staff member with a knife demanding money.

The staff member complied and the man left the club with a sum on money.

Detectives charged a man yesterday after information was received from a member of the public.

A 59-year-old Tewantin man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and is expected to appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today, December 7.

Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards said this is an example of how one phone call to Crime Stoppers.
