Armed robbery charges in Redcliffe, QLD

Police have charged two people after a bottle shop was allegedly held up with a pair of scissors in Redcliffe last night, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged at around 8.15pm a man and woman entered the business on Ashmole Road.

The woman then allegedly went behind the counter and threatened the 27-year-old female store attendant with a pair of scissors, demanding money from the till.

The attendant complied and the woman allegedly took a sum of cash while the man removed a number of bottles of alcohol form the shelves.

The pair then fled the scene on foot. No one was injured as a result of the incident.

A short time later police attended a disturbance at an address on nearby Ettie Street where they located two people meeting a similar description to the man and woman along with cash, alcohol and scissors.

Both were arrested and a 32-year-old Caboolture woman and 28-year-old man were charged with armed robbery in company.

They are due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.
