Armed robbery charges in Sarina, QLD

Police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery in Sarina earlier today, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged at 9.55am a man entered a hotel on Broad Street, armed with a knife and made demands for money.

It will be further alleged he restrained a male employee by tying his hands with a cable tie.

The man then allegedly left the business with a sum of cash.

Police attended the scene and took a man into custody.

A 58-year-old Greenmount is scheduled to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on July 17 charged with armed robbery, deprivation of liberty and an unrelated charge of robbery.
