Armed robbery in Blacktown

A man has been injured following an armed robbery in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

About 11pm today two men entered with their faces covered entered a licensed premise on Kildare Road, Blacktown.

One was armed with a knife, the other was armed with a hammer.

They threatened staff, and were handed cash from the till.

As they fled the store a number of witnesses intervened. One witness, a 36-year-old man, took hold of the blade of the knife, resulting in a cut to his hand.

The two men then fled the scene, leaving the weapons behind.

Police from Blacktown LAC attended and established a crime scene.

The man with the knife is described as wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark long legged pants, black shoes, and a green mask covering his face.

The second man is described as wearing a white hooded jumper, black long legged pants, white shoes, and a black face covering.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
