Armed robbery in Orange

Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a fast food store in Orange this morning, NSW Police say.

About 1.45am today, a man entered the store on Bathurst Street armed with a knife.

He threatened the staff and demanded cash before walking behind the counter and attempting to open a cash register.

Staff opened the register after more threats and the man stole cash before he left through a side door.

No one was injured.

He was last seen running into a paddock behind a tavern on Glenroi Avenue.

Witnesses have described the man to police as being of Aboriginal appearance and wearing a black hooded jumper, gloves and black tracksuit pants.

Police attached to the Canobolas Local Area Command have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
