Armed robbery in Warrawong

Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed at knife point in Lake Illawarra early this morning, NSW Police say.

Just after 5am today, a 41-year-old man was in a car when he was approached by two males, in a car park on Northcliffe Drive, Warrawong.

The two males, both armed with knives, allegedly held the 41-year-old man at knife point, demanding money.

After handing over cash and a mobile phone both men fled the scene. The incident was then reported to officers at Port Kembla Police Station.

The 41-year-old man sustained minor injuries to his head and leg.

A crime scene was established and investigations into the incident continue. Detectives would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist them with inquiries.

The first man is described as being of Asian appearance and about 150-155cm tall. He was last seen wearing a tan shirt.

The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and was last seen wearing a white cap and black jumper.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
