Armed robbery, man charged in Northmead

A man will face court after an alleged armed robbery in Northmead earlier this week, NSW Police say.

About 9.10am on Monday (4 June 2018), police were called to Glenn Avenue, after reports a 25-year-old man had allegedly been threatened with a knife and robbed.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command, with assistance from the Dog Unit, conducted an extensive search of the area, however were unable to locate the man.

Following inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home on Brien’s Road, Northmead, about 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 5 June 2018).

During the search, police located and seized a number of items including knives, clothing and electronics.

An 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 6 June 2018).
