Armed robbery - Maroubra Junction, NSW

Police are investigating following an armed robbery at Maroubra Junction overnight, NSW Police say.

Just before 12am tomorrow, police responded to reports of an armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant on Anzac Parade.

Police were told a man entered the store and approached a staff member. He produced a knife and demanded cash from a safe.

The staff member complied with the demand.

The man then ran from the store with an amount of cash and was last seen running north along Anzac Parade.

Police from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene which was forensically examined.

Detectives investigating the incident would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 35 and 40, with brown eyes.

The man was last seen wearing black tracksuit pants, a dark-grey coloured hooded top, grey beanie, and dark-coloured running shoes.
