Armed robbery Merrimac

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Merrimac in the early hours of this morning.

Around 12.18am three masked males have entered the Gooding Drive service station armed with a hammer and a wrench. Once inside the 38-year-old female store employee has retreated to a back area and one of the males has jumped the counter and removed the cash drawer.

While the offenders were inside the premises the front glass doors automatically locked causing one of the males to use the hammer to smash the glass door to get out of the service station.

No one was physically injured during the incident.
