Armed robbery of pizza delivery driver at Tamworth

Police are appealing for the public's assistance after an armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver in Tamworth last night.

About 10pm (Tuesday 28 September 2021), a 19-year-old male driver attended a home on Susanne Street to deliver an order.

Police have been told upon returning to his vehicle, the driver was approached by an unknown male who threatened him with a knife, demanding money.

The unknown male fled the scene, taking a bag containing cash. He was last seen running towards Woodward Avenue with a large white dog with black spots, similar to a pit-bull breed, running after him.

Officers from Oxley Police District were contacted and commenced investigations.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with investigations. He is described as being aged in his 20s or 30s, approximately 187cm tall, and of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance.

The man was last seen wearing dark track pants and a dark hooded top with the hood pulled over his head.
