Police are investigating an armed robbery in the state's south.
About 4.35pm today (Friday 17 October 2025), officers from the Barrier Police District responded to reports of an armed robbery upon a financial institution in Darling Street, Wentworth, approximately 260km south of Broken Hill.
Police have been informed that a man entered the business armed with a pole making threats towards staff and customers.
The man left the location with an amount of cash and was last seen running west along Adelaide Street.
There were no reports of any person being injured.
Officers established a crime scene and an investigation into the incident has commenced.
He is described as being of thin build wearing a face covering, pink hooded puffer jacket, brown gloves and black pants.
A short time later police located the jacket - believed to be worn by the man – in a laneway off Short Street. It has been seized for forensic examination.
